18th August 2026 – Theme Night

RC

A well supported evening at the club hall on the 18th of August.

A theme night where most of the club brought something along but the most impressive display was from the Club Chairman with a huge number of 1/48 prototypes that brightened the tables with their bright and colourful finishes.  Additionally Mick E, Richard C, Sibo, Tony H, Don, Tony L, Chris, Dave B and Paul C all had contributions whether a large spread of tanks from Paul or a single pick up truck such as Tony L displayed or in the case of Don and Tony H conversions in progress.

Not all conversions were massive changes. Micks Wessex looked great in yellow. Richard had combined various building kits to make the large central piece to his zombie diorama and distressed a WWI tank to make a convincing museum relic.

On the completed projects table some Figures appeared from Bob and Richard

Most notable though was the conversation, particularly Tony Hawkins who showed the extensive techniques he had used to correct two versions of the Nimrod and Colin on the breadth of his projects. The shutters were open into the tea room too which allowed a good exchange between the club members. The end of the night saw the drawing of names for decals sheets as Chris Southwood officially began the long term B-17 Group build.
