Boscombe Aviation Collection MS 12th August 2018
The weather may be changing but Model Shows are still the hot topic of the month, and the Boscombe Aviation Collection Model Show is no exception.
The one thing I love about this show is that it is only a few minutes from home, so no earlier start, for me, short trip through Salisbury then out to Old Saurm.
A little light drizzle greeted us, but the car was swiftly unloaded and display setup with help from Steve S, Roger L, Brian R, Mick E & Richard C.
BAC Model Show is becoming a great show on the model show circuit, the venue is a great location, we were in front of a Sea Harrier XZ457, its restoration story would make for a great diorama. Where can I get a 1/24 scale Harrier from?
Many local clubs were displaying their wares and the usual collection of traders added to the mix. Spread over the museum the show made good use of the space in front of and around the static displays.
We had a lot of interest from the public and museum staff, especially Richard C’s Hawker Hurricane diorama and his WIP of a Mosquito restoration, Mike E’s Bath Wars was a hit with the younger members of the public.
It was great to see our display units in the museum where still attracting a good deal of attention.
Another great day in great company, Boscombe Down Aviation Collection are having a Family Fun Day on 9th September, we will displaying and will be demonstrating some of our skills.
Were will we be next?
