Nick W – Build Pt5

With a week to go here are a few pics to show where I’m at with my Spitfire…

Masking and painting roundels was a first for me…

Not sure I made things any easier by deciding to paint the roundels after the camo – I think conventional wisdom is to do them first…

But the effect is definitely worth it…
This one came out distinctly egg shaped…

But I was able to correct it with some extra yellow…
On to the decals, and as usual I’ve made life difficult by choosing a font that, for the W, is not in my decal dungeon…

So I made it up with strips of black decal…
And onto a Flory “dark dirt” wash…

It’s nearly done!
