13th April Poole Vikings Model Show 2019

A sunny Saturday in April, where else would one be but on the road to Poole. No, not taking the wife to the seaside, nor to the many shopping outlets.

Just a day out for the lads, Paul, Richard, Mick, Don & Mike (sounds like reformed 80’s boy band) rocked up at Parkstone Grammar School.

Display stand was setup in no time at all and our mixture of models were on display ready for the public.

It amazes as all at the wide variety of modeling genres we have among our members, and we had some very good examples of these on display. Our stand always attracts a good crowd.

Many purchases were made, Don & Richard seem to be buying the same modeling essentials, great minds hey.

Poole is always a favourite on the show circuit, helped by an easy drive down from Salisbury, but also a good hunting ground for members collecting awards.

Paul C had an excellent collection of trophies at the end of the day:

  • Gold in 1/72 Vehicle Class and the Derek Foley Memorial Trophy
  • Gold in 1/35 Scale Vehicle Class and the Brian Bisp Memorial Trophy
  • Gold in Figure Class
  • Gold in Diorama Class and the Bruce Arterton Memorial Trophy and Best in Show
  • Gold in Sci Fi / Fantasy Class
Well done.

Milton Keynes Model Show is next on 28th April – See you there.
